Privacy

This website is the author home of June Whitlock, a pen name used by Little Pause Press. It is a small site: it lists books, it links to Amazon, and it offers a reader email list. It is not a shop, it takes no payments, and it has no account to sign into.

The short version: the only personal information this site asks for is an email address, and only if you choose to join the reader list. The site sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and does not track you from page to page.

The reader list

If you join June’s reader list, you type your email address into a form on the home page. That form is provided by MailerLite, which runs the list on our behalf. Your address goes to MailerLite, not to a database on this website — this site stores nothing.

The list uses confirmed opt-in. After you submit the form, MailerLite sends you one email asking you to confirm. Until you click the link in that email you are not subscribed and you will receive nothing else. If you never confirm, nothing further happens.

Once you confirm, we use your address for one purpose: to send news about June Whitlock’s books — new releases, updates and the occasional note. We do not sell, rent or share the list, and we do not use it to advertise anything other than these books.

Every email includes an unsubscribe link, which takes effect immediately. You can also write to us at the address below and ask to be removed, to be told what is held about you, or to have it deleted.

Alongside your address, MailerLite records the technical details it needs to run a confirmed opt-in list, which can include the date of your signup and the network address you used. What MailerLite collects and how long it keeps it is set out in their own privacy notice, linked above.

Fonts, and the one request every page makes

The site’s typefaces are served by Google Fonts. That means every page you open here asks Google’s servers for the font files, and that request necessarily tells Google your network address and which browser you are using. This happens on every page, whether or not you interact with anything.

We do not receive that information, and we use it for nothing. It is listed here because it is the one unavoidable third-party request the site makes, and you are entitled to know it happens.

Links to Amazon

Every “Kindle” and “Paperback” button is an ordinary link to that book’s page on Amazon. Nothing is sent to Amazon while you are reading this site; it happens only if you click, and then you are on Amazon’s site under Amazon’s terms and privacy policy.

These links carry no affiliate or referral tracking.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising pixels and no tracking scripts, and it stores nothing in your browser.

The one exception worth naming: MailerLite’s form script runs on the home page, and like most such scripts it may set cookies or similar identifiers of its own. Their privacy notice covers that. No other page on this site loads it.

Children

This site is written for adult readers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has joined the reader list, write to us and we will remove the address.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by writing to the address below. We will act on it.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your personal information. If you want to exercise any of them, write to us and say what you need.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes — a new service, a different form, anything that collects more than it does today — this page changes with it and the date below is updated. There is no mailing list for policy changes; the date is the record.
